Hulme Hall in Port Sunlight was transformed into a showcase for the peninsula’s rich past when the Wirral History Fair arrived.

The Wirral History and Heritage Association, which has been running the fair for several years, had a record number of participants with more than 90 stalls representing various projects, memorabilia, family trees, and artefacts.

Visitors could see items related to historical events and periods such as the Vikings, Victorians and World Wars, as well as learn about local architecture, transportation and nature.

Although the purpose of the event was to promote Wirral’s history, stall holders also discussed the need for local history to be taught in schools.
