Merseyside Police are appealing for information after a fatal collision in Knotty Ash on Sunday.

Police were called to Pilch Lane, at the roundabout with East Prescot Road, at around 4:50am on October 10, where a vehicle was on fire after colliding with a wall.

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the fire but a man in his 20s died as a result of his injuries.

A 25-year-old woman from Liverpool was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries. She has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Roads Policing Inspector Stuart McIver said: “We’d ask that anyone who witnessed the collision or captured anything on dashcam or other devices and has yet to come forward does so as soon as possible. Your information could be vital to our investigation.”

Anyone with information should call the Matrix Roads Policing Unit on (0151) 777 5747, email [email protected] or contact @MerPolCC on Twitter quoting reference 21000703076.
