Merseyside Police have arrested a man in connection with an attempted robbery and theft in Liverpool.

Police were called at around 6pm on February 10 after a man suffered minor injuries following an attack in Botanic Park. Another report was made after a bike theft in the same area.

A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of armed robbery and pedal bike theft after fitting the description of both victims.

Merseyside Police announced Operation Target in May 2020 to tackle serious and violent crime in the community.

Inspector Andy Lloyd said: “Serious violence, regardless of whether this results in injury or not, will not be tolerated. We are determined to find those who threaten or harm others and cause fear in our communities.

“If you know someone involved in crime, of any nature in the Liverpool area, please get in touch and make this a safer place for everyone.”
