Two 16-year-olds have been arrested following a reported stabbing in south Liverpool.

Merseyside Police received a report at around 10:20pm on April 9 that a 16-year-old arrived at an address on Woodlands Road, Aigburth, with two stab wounds to his chest.

Emergency services attended the scene and he is in a critical condition in hospital.

Police launched an investigation and have arrested a male and female, both aged 16, on suspicion of attempted murder.

Detective Inspector Michael Fletcher said: “At this stage we are looking to establish the circumstances of what appears to have been a targeted attack.

As part of our ongoing inquiries, we are trying to establish the location of the stabbing, so if you live in the area or have CCTV or dashcam footage, please review it to see if you captured anything from last night.”
