Hoylake ASC (HASC), a Wirral based swimming club, is appealing to local businesses.

The club is holding its Spring Championship in April and is fundraising to help cover costs of their training facilities.

Pool hire, competitions, equipment, and memberships are expenses which the non-profit are aiming to raise money for.

Raffle prizes, such as tickets, products, or free services are applicable as donations.

Tricia Birch, chair of HASC, said: “The club has focused on competitive swimming for almost fourth years and we have a friendly but competitive spirit.”

Lee Murphy, founder of The Accountancy Partnership, who donated a luxury hamper during the Christmas period, said: “The club has been an important part of the Wirral community for almost a century and the work done by its members 50 years ago resulted in what remains one of the most popular leisure centres on the peninsula.”

He encouraged other businesses to offer raffle prizes to help the club, as a quintessential part of life in the Wirral.

Formed in 1931, the original club for HASC was located at the Hoylake Outdoor pool.

It moved into its current spot in 1976 after successfully raising £25,000 through fundraising galas, sponsored swims and more.

This also initiated the formation of the Hoylake Indoor Pool Organisation (HIPO)

A show of appreciation is the HIPO emblem tiled on the pool floor in the West Kirby pool at which the members train.
