Liverpool-based fashion brand Francesca Couture is set to unveil an exciting new collection for teenagers, inspired by Scouse girls.

Designer Francesca Kearns, who founded her label at just 21, has spent nearly 20 years winning over Liverpool’s fashion scene with her signature style.
Now, she’s turning her focus to the next generation with Fashionista by Francesca — a fresh new line designed for young girls and teens.
As a mum of two, Francesca was motivated by both her own daughters and her loyal customers who now have children of their own.

“Friends tell me how hard it is to find clothes for their daughters — and I feel the same,” she said.
“My girls want to dress older, but I don’t want them looking too grown up. That’s what started this collection. I also had a lovely message from a mum whose 15-year-old daughter was saving her pocket money to buy my clothes — that really meant a lot.”
She added: “I want to create something for girls who love fashion but don’t have a huge budget — pieces made just for them, not too young and not too old.”
The Fashionista collection is designed to be stylish, comfortable, and affordable — clothes girls will love to wear, and mums will approve of too.
Francesca explained: “I want the range to help girls feel confident as they transition from kids to teens, while keeping mums happy too.
“I made sure the designs are modest — no short hemlines or bare chests — but still fun, playful, and age-appropriate.”

For Francesca, this is about more than clothes. She’s been working behind the scenes to create an empowering launch event that showcases Fashionista and celebrates young girls’ confidence and creativity.
“I don’t think today’s fashion industry does enough to represent teenage girls or bridge the gap between kids’ and women’s fashion,” she said.
“That’s where shopping becomes difficult — and where tensions between parents and daughters often start.”
Collaborating with Nicola Byrne and Sarah Worsley, founders of the Girls With Dreams Club, Francesca has helped put together an event filled with workshops, motivational talks, fashion, beauty, live music, and DJ sets — all aimed at inspiring young girls across Liverpool.
Sarah said: “It’s so important for girls to have safe spaces where they feel relaxed and unjudged. That’s when they can truly express themselves and be creative. Girls today often feel pressured to conform — we want to change that.”

When asked why the mix of music, fashion, and empowering messages works so well for this age group, she added: “These are things girls naturally connect with. By combining them, we can reach more girls and encourage individuality — we don’t want carbon copies; we want them to find their own style.”
Many ideas for Fashionista by Francesca came from conversations with girls at the Girls With Dreams Club, who worked together on mood boards to show Francesca the looks they wanted to wear — and their ultimate fashion do’s and don’ts.
The Fashionista by Francesca collection was unveiled on October 12th with an exclusive live catwalk show at BOXPARK Liverpool, featuring local teens modelling the designs.
