A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with possessing a firearm, ammunition, cash and suspected drugs.
The contraband, including Class A drugs heroin and crack cocaine, was seized after a warrant was carried out on a flat in Moss Lane, Orrell Park, at around 7am this morning.
The search was carried out under a Merseyside-led initiative set up to combat County Lines drug dealing and child criminal exploitation.
Known as Operation Toxic, the initiative is a part of Project Medusa, and the suspect has been taken into custody for questioning.

Detective Chief Inspector Gary Stratton said: “This morning’s warrant has removed another viable firearm from the community, which will now be forensically analysed for any links to previous incidents or individuals. In addition, suspected drugs destined to cause misery on the streets have also been seized.
“We want to seize weapons before they are even used, so if you suspect that any weapons or drugs are being stored or supplied, contact us immediately and swift action will be taken to assess and remove the risk.”
