The 1936 Pub Co has unveiled its newest pub, marking the company’s first foray into Liverpool’s business district after taking over venues across other parts of the city.
The Queens Arms, which opened its doors for the first time on Friday, joins a company portfolio that already includes a large selection of pubs on Lark Lane and around the Knowledge Quarter, including Love and Rockets, The White Hart and The Pilgrim.
The pub is located in the Pacific Chambers building, which was most recently home to Dorothy’s Diner. The building itself dates back to the 1920s.

Although the building was empty before bought by 1936 PubCo, some on social media expressed their concern about another 1936 Pub Co opening.
One wrote: “Every pub is starting to look the same”.
However, training manager Danny Ahern said: “Opening weekend was good and busy with large groups.”
In a post shared on The Queens Arms’ Instagram, they said: “It’s been a busy few weeks restoring the grand original features of this beautiful former banking hall.”
The pub is 1936 Pub Co’s second opening this year, after The Shandon Bells on Hope Street opened in January.

The pub is adorned with the brand’s signature taxidermy decorations as well as a large ceilings.
It is open every day from 12pm.
