The popular St George’s Hall beer festival is set to return this September after a three year break, under new organisation from local pub The Ship and Mitre.

The iconic Liverpool venue previously hosted a festival every September run by real-ale organisation CAMRA, which stopped running in 2023.

After three years out, the festival will return on 24th September, spanning across four days.

Manager of the Dale Street pub The Ship and Mitre Andy Hayes said: “We’re really excited to be bringing back the Liverpool Beer Festival at St George’s Hall, one of Liverpool’s most iconic buildings.

“It’s been a big part of Liverpool’s hospitality culture for a long time, and the fact that the festival has been missing since 2023 we think has had a big impact on the hospitality industry on our side of town.”

The pub aims to maintain the key aspects of the iconic Liverpool Beer Festival which had been taking place in St George’s Hall since 2013.

The return of the September festival will feature up to 250 beers and ciders, as well as live music and food from local venders.

The festival looks to celebrate Liverpool heritage, with a host of local breweries being amongst the line-up of beers, as well as performances from local musicians.

The Ship and Mitre have been hosting their own beer festivals in the Wirral for over ten years, and hope to use their experience to create an unforgettable atmosphere once again at St George’s Hall.

Mr Hayes said: “We’re really practised in beer festivals, so we hope we can do it justice”.
