Roadworks on Speke Hall Road are to begin on the 16th February and are scheduled to take six months.

Drivers can expect lane closures and temporary traffic lights and have been advised to allow extra time for their journeys.

The work forms part of Liverpool City Region’s Key Route Network Levelling Up Programme which aims to improve reliability and resilience of key routes across Liverpool.

Work will include improved drainage, resurfacing of the road and safer pedestrian crossings.

Liverpool City Council’s Cabinet Member for Transport and Connectivity Dan Barrington said “This investment in Speke Hall Road is an important step in improving safety, accessibility and journey reliability for everyone who uses this key route.

“We know roadworks can be disruptive, and we appreciate people’s patience while this essential work takes place.”

Public meetings for residents and businesses to discuss the impacts of the road works will take place this month on Thursday 12 February, 4pm-8pm at Simpson Ground Leisure United and Tuesday 24 February, 4pm-8pm at Speke Training and Education Centre.
