Liverpool’s Adult Social Care services are celebrating their ‘Good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) after their recent inspection.

Liverpool City Council said the rating is reflective of their hard work and commitment to delivering high quality care for Liverpool residents that access support.

The assessment involves investigating how the council handles its responsibilities of supporting adults with care needs.

Councillor Angela Coleman, a cabinet member for Adult Social care said “This is a proud moment for Liverpool. It reflects the compassion, professionalism, and dedication of our Adult Social Care teams.

“I am especially proud of our staff who put their heart and soul into supporting people every single day. This wouldn’t be possible without them.

“We know there’s more to do, and we’re committed to continuing to improve and build on this success.”

The workers have been praised for putting the people of Liverpool at the heart of their work.

With many residents saying they felt listened to, that their families were involved in decisions and they felt their wishes were respected.

The investigators highlighted that the council were helping people to stay independent and in their own homes for as long as possible.

This highlights the larger work which is taking place with Liverpool council trying to ‘reshape’ Adult Social Care in Liverpool focusing and empowering residents to live independently, remain connected to their community and most importantly thrive.
