The highly anticipated restaurant Barnacle will be opening on Thursday, October 8.

The new eatery, run by Paul Askew, chef patron of The Art School in Liverpool, and his son Harry, will open inside the former School For The Blind on Hardman Street in the Georgian Quarter.

The restaurant and bar will serve a wide selection of food and drink, all influenced by Liverpool’s maritime history.

It also celebrates Merseyside’s finest artisans and producers through their seasonal menus.

Barnacle had a private open evening earlier this week, as it braces itself for the busy autumn and winter periods.

Harry said on the restaurant’s Instagram page: “We can’t wait to open our doors and show people our new home.

“We really feel Barnacle has now found its true home in a unique building which offers several spaces to dine, drink and socialise in.”

Barnacle had previously been open as a street food vendor next to the Albert Docks, but now it takes the leap to Hardman Street.

A Barnacle spokesperson said: “Barnacle is a vibrant Liverpool-based restaurant inspired by the city’s rich maritime history.

“Celebrating local heritage, our menus offer creative, seasonally-inspired dishes crafted by Liverpool’s leading chefs.

“From a la carte lunch and early evening, to the Excellence set menu, our cuisine embodies the fusion of global flavours with locally-sourced produce.”
