A man has been jailed today for threatening bar staff in Southport.
Mark Lismore, 35 years, Leyland Road in Southport, was in the Ivy bar on Lord Street when the altercation broke out between him and the bar staff over payments for drinks.
Lismore was escorted off the premises. However, he returned shortly after and lifted his jacket, revealing a bread style knife tucked into the waist band of his trousers and then left.
The kitchen knife was found hidden in a flowerpot when officers attended to arrest Lismore.
In a statement from Merseyside Police, Detective Constable Immy Mahmood said: “The use of knives can have devastating consequences, not only for the victim and their family but also for the offenders involved.”
Lismore was sentenced to one year and four months in prison at Liverpool Crown Court, after pleading guilty to threatening a person with a bladed object in a public area.
