Organisers of the Wirral 10km run are encouraging more people to sign up.
The event, hosted by Born to Run Liverpool, will take place on October 12th at New Brighton. Although more than 900 people have signed up the organisation is hoping to hit the 1,000 mark.
The race did not take place between 2021 and 2023 however the number of runners has been growing over the last two years with 500 taking part in 2023 and 750 in 2024.
BTR Liverpool Race Director Alan Rothwell said: “What the BTR team enjoy most is the excitement and anticipation on everyone’s faces as they cross the start line”.
The route begins at Ian Fraser Walk at 9:30AM and goes past Fort Perch Rock before turning around at Seacombe Ferry and the race will conclude back at Ian Fraser Walk.
The money raised from the race will go to eight different charities including Alder Hey Children’s Charity and Liverpool Women’s Hospital Charity.
The competition is part of a wider event calendar of both competitive races and fun runs such as the BTR Liverpool Half Marathon.
It will be the 11th race BTR Liverpool has staged on the Wirral.
The new design of the medals handed out after the race features an image of Perch Rock Lighthouse.

Rothwell said: “Join us to race, come along to support, or be a part of the volunteer team on the day”.
