Two men, both aged 21, have been charged with the attempted murder of a man on the Wirral.

Gunshots were fired at around 4pm on November 16 2019 at a petrol station in Birkenhead.

Paramedics attended the scene after a man was shot in the upper arm and leg and later was admitted to hospital for the injuries suffered.

The shooting took place on the corner of Balls Road East and Borough Road. Police believe the men were on motorbikes when the shots were fired.

Witnesses then saw two motorbikes flee the scene.

John Frederick Lewis, 21, of Home Farm Road, Woodchurch, and Connor William Chapman, 21, of Woodland Road, Woodchurch, have been charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Officers have arrested the two men. They were remanded into custody at Wirral Magistrates’ Court this morning, Tuesday December 7.
