February half term can be a difficult holiday to keep the kids amused, the weather is still cold, and they are still on a slight comedown from Christmas, but here are some ideas for half term fun for children.
Based in the city centre, this unique café offers both children and adults the chance to play their favourite games, while also enjoying food and drink. With a cover price of £2.50 per hour for game time (capping at £6 for up to 4 hours) and with children aged 5-7 allowed in at half price, it won’t break the bank.
From Monday, 13 Feb, 11:00-Wednesday, 15 Feb, 15:00 the Liverpool Cathedral Education team will be providing several arts and crafts throughout the majestical building. Each family session is free and lasts for 45 minutes. When not participating in activities, you can also have lunch in the Bistro or tour the delights of the cathedral.
All activity sessions must be prebooked at Eventbrite. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/half-term-family-fun-at-liverpool-cathedral-tickets-507538801217
Liverpool has more museums and art galleries than any city outside London, and most of them are free. Take your child to learn about dinosaurs and ancient history at The World Museum in William Brown Street; or let them learn about the city’s maritime history in the Maritime Museum or allow them to learn more about their local history at Museum of Liverpool. All museums have interactive fun to keep children interested, and they also have picnic areas if they want to take their own packed lunch.
You don’t have to travel far
Not many people know that Liverpool is one of the greenest cities in the country. Despite its urban nature, Liverpool is also blessed with several large, picturesque parks. Whether it in Croxteth or Stanley Park to the North or Sefton, Prince’s or Calderstones to the South, all parks have vast green spaces and park swings and slides to entertain.
Currently taking place throughout February, this campaign will reach a show-stopping final on September 18th between 3pm-6pm. Fiesta of Fire will be lighting up the docks with a variety of fire acts, flaming sword fights, martial arts and a fire breathing dragon. Food is also available.
- The Wizard and the Wand – Otterspool Adventure
Otterspool is a fun place for kids any time of the year but this half term from 11-19 February it is even more magical. The Wizard and the Wand includes a spectacular show full of illusions and surprises, the Wonderful Wand Emporium and the Wizard and Witch Parade. There were also plenty of photo opportunities for your children to make memories.
