Events are taking place across Merseyside this week in support of International Women’s Day.
International Women’s Day on March 8 celebrates the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women across the globe.
The United Nations officially recognised the event in 1975 and it is now celebrated in over 80 countries.
International Women’s Day website has announced that this year’s theme is #BreakTheBias.
The organisation is calling on people to “imagine a gender equal world” which is free of biases, stereotypes and discrimination against women.
On #InternationalWomensDay as we continue to #BreakTheBias 🙅🏽♀️ our focus equally is on much-needed #solidarity with #UkraineWomen and girls caught in conflict.
