The festival is a chance for the city to showcase its diversity, as people from all over Europe will share their cultures through folk dances, traditional music, and a parade on 10 May.

Festival organisers stated: “The Liverpool European Festival aims to provide a dynamic platform for European organisations and communities residing in the Liverpool city region to showcase their rich heritage, traditions, and contributions to the local tapestry.”

The event aims to bring together Europeans from a diverse range of countries and offer Scots a chance to partake in their culture.

The event will showcase cultures from over 20 European countries, including Greece, Ukraine, and Poland, with food stands offering visitors a chance to try authentic dishes.

Highlighting their contributions to the city, the event will also showcase stories of migrants who have come to Liverpool.

Thanks to funding from the Polish consulate, intended to be used to promote Polish culture abroad, Merseyside Polonia have been able to coordinate the festival for the fourth year running.

Manager of Merseyside Polonia, Dagmara Wojciechowicz stated: “For the first event there was almost 100 people that came from London to Liverpool… the event is about promoting Europeancommunities who are already in Liverpool, rather than constantly looking out it’s about looking in at what makes Liverpool our home.”
