If you live in the Sefton borough, you may be voting in a new ward in the upcoming local elections.
Big changes have been made to the borough by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE).
Their changes are meant to give voters more equality across Sefton.
Here’s how your ward is impacted by the changes:
AINSDALE: No impact.
BIRKDALE: The northern boundary has changed to increase area, from 5,990 residential households to 6,436.
BLUNDELLSANDS: The southeastern boundary has changed to increase area, from 5,825 houses to 6,081.
CAMBRIDGE: Marginal increase on the eastern boundary, from 7,853 to 7,872 households.
CHURCH/WATERLOO: Church ward has been renamed to Waterloo. Northern and Southern boundaries changed by a small amount, to increase residential household numbers from 6,903 to 6,953.
DERBY/BOOTLE EAST: Derby ward has been renamed Bootle East. The northeast and southwest boundaries have changed, increasing the number of residential households from 6,434 to 6,639.
DUKES: A slight change in Dukes’ eastern boundary has seen the number of residential households rise from 9,513 to 9.517.
FORD: No impact.
HARINGTON/FORMBY WEST: Harington ward has been renamed to Formby West. No other impact.
KEW: adjustments to the northern, southern, and western boundaries has seen a reduction in residential household numbers from 7,253 to 6,853.
LINACRE/BOOTLE WEST: Linacre ward will be renamed Bootle West.
Boundary changes for the north and southern boundaries means the number of residential households has risen from 8,003 to 8,258.
LITHERLAND: No impact.
MANOR/THORNTON AND HIGHTOWN: Manor ward has been renamed to Thornton and Hightown. The eastern boundary has expanded, and the southern boundary has reduced, resulting in the number of residential households decreasing from 6,192 to 6,129.
MEOLS: The western boundary has been reduced, meaning the number of residential households has decreased slightly from 5,889 to 5,870.
MOLYNEUX/AINTREE AND MAGHULL SOUTH: Molyneux ward has been renamed to Aintree and Maghull South. No other impact.
NETHERTON AND ORRELL/NETHERTON SOUTH AND ORRELL: Netherton and Orrell has been renamed to Netherton South and Orrell. The northern boundary has been reduced and the southwest boundary has been expanded, decreasing the number of residential households from 5,759 to 5,389.
NORWOOD: Norwood has reduced it’s western boundary, so the number of residential households has reduced from 6,361 to 6,311.
PARK/LYDIATE AND MAGHULL WEST: Park ward has been renamed Lydiate and Maghull West. A major reduction in the southwestern boundary and a small increase on the eastern boundary has meant the number of residential households has increased from 5,564 to 6,061.
RAVENMEOLS/FORMBY EAST: Ravenmeols ward has been renamed Formby East. No other impact.
ST OSWALD/NETHERTON NORTH: St Oswald ward has been renamed Netherton North. An increase in the south-east border means the number of residential households has risen from 5,311 to 5,818.
SUDELL/MAGHULL EAST: Sudell ward has been renamed Maghull East. A reduction in the northwest boundary means that the number of residential households has decreased from 6,206 to 5,516.
VICTORIA/GREAT CROSBY: Victoria ward has been renamed Great Crosby. A reduction in the southwest boundary means that the number of residential households has decreased from 5,962 to 5,315.
