Police are appealing for information about a fire that broke out in a warehouse on Parr Street in the early hours of this morning.

Fire crews were called to a blaze at 3:28am this morning and fire engines had arrived on the scene at 3:34am, according to Merseyside Fire and Rescue.

Detective Inspector Paula Jones said: “We are in the early stages of an investigation and working closely with MFRS to establish the cause of the fire.

“We are appealing to witnesses to contact Police if they saw two males running from the scene between 3:30am and 4:00am.”

Four fire engines attended the scene, and by 7:48am the fire was out and it was confirmed that nobody was missing.

Road closures remain in place around the scene as police continue their investigation.

No injuries have been reported.
