Ashley Cooke, Head of World Museum, said: “It’s so exciting to have updated the gallery showcasing a refreshed space with many of the objects that visitors know and love, with fresh interpretation and immersive technologies.”

The oldest gallery space in the museum closed to the public in 2025 and the new refresh of the space is set to ‘bring the natural world to life.’

The gallery will feature exhibits from botany, geology, entomology and zoology collections. Visitors can experience a glimpse into life in thick rainforests, savannahs of Africa. The frozen, icy worlds of the Arctic, Antarctica and Patagonia.

People can also journey past replicas of fearsome dinosaurs, lions and lionesses, polar Bears and Arctic Foxes. They will also see buffalos and hyenas as they explore rainforests that are bursting with life, with birds and the mammals that live amongst the trees.

Wild World: Dinosaurs and Natural History opens on the fourth floor of World Museum on 14 February 2026 and is free to enter.

Luke Kavanagh went to catch a glimpse of the new gallery.
