Merseyside Police are appealing for information following a serious assault in Liverpool city centre.
An 18-year-old man was found unconscious next to St Luke’s Church, on Berry Street, at around 4.20am on Sunday 1 February.
After initial inquiries, police believed that the assault may have been racially motivated and we are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Detective Constable Dan Brown said: “This was a serious assault that resulted in a man in hospital with a serious head injury.”
“Violence and hate crime will never be tolerated in our communities.”
“If you were driving past the area at around the time, please check your dashcam in case you captured something that could be important to our investigation.”
