Liverpool’s Fabric District has been ranked as the second best place to live for under-35s in the UK, according to a new list published by The Times.

The neighbourhood was praised for its central location, growing creative scene and ongoing regeneration, placing it ahead of dozens of areas across the country.

The Fabric District, located on the edge of Liverpool city centre, takes its name from its industrial past, when the area was home to fabric merchants and textile warehouses.

In recent years, many of those buildings have been redeveloped into apartments, studios and workspaces, while new bars, cafés and independent businesses continue to open, with lots of construction currently in the area.

The ranking forms part of The Times’ annual list highlighting the best places for young people to live, based on factors including affordability, lifestyle, career opportunities and overall quality of life.

Liverpool was described as offering strong value for money compared to other major UK cities, with the Fabric District standing out for its proximity to the city centre and cultural attractions.

Residents and people working in the area say the district’s transformation has helped create a busier and more vibrant atmosphere.

While the Fabric District remains a work in progress, continued development suggests its growing reputation may be set to continue.
