The mother of a man murdered whilst with friends has issued a new tribute to her son, on what would have been his 26th birthday.
Merseyside Police continue to appeal for information to find the people responsible for the murder of Sam Rimmer.
Sam was with friends at Lavrock Bank in Dingle on August 16th 2022, when at 11.40pm two electric bikes were driven into the cul-de-sac and the drivers’ fired shots towards the group.
Sam was injured and pronounced dead later in hospital.
Sam’s mother, Joanne Rimmer, said today: “Sam’s birthday will forever be a painful reminder of his absence and the devastating loss felt by those who loved him.”
Mrs Rimmer said: “I share a birthday with Sam. This year is a day that was always intended to be a joyful joint celebration of my 50th birthday and Sam’s own. There will now be no celebration.”
Despite ten people being arrested in relation to the murder so far no one has been charged.

Senior Investigating officer, Detective Chief Inspector Steve McGrath, said: “It’s vital that anyone who has information comes forward as a matter of urgency so we can get justice for Sam’s family.
“No matter how small or insignificant you think it might be, please let us know because it could prove to be vital to our inquiries.”
He added: “Please don’t assume we already have this information or guess how significant it might be. Our detectives will assess this and do all we can to trace any suspects.”
