Police received a report that a house on Dam House Crescent was broken into on Monday 27th October between the hours of 9pm and 10pm, when the occupants were out.

Officers attended and an investigation is ongoing with  enquiries being carried out.

Detective Inspector Kevin O’Rourke, from the Burglary Team (Operation Castle), said: “This was a very distressing experience for the occupants to come home to and have their property invaded which is an awful experience to go through, and can often have a massive and long-lasting impact on victims.”

“I would urge anyone who was in the area of on Dam House Crescent and Rupert Road between 9pm and 10pm and noticed a man acting suspiciously to please contact us.”

DI O’Rourke added: “We would also ask people to check their dashcam, CCTV or doorbell footage to see if they may have captured something which may be vital to the investigation.

“I’m also appealing to anyone who knows the whereabouts of the stolen jewellery to please contact us or may have seen them advertised for sale to let us know.”
