Brand-new children’s books are being donated to Merseyside children this Christmas.
Since 2020, Agent, a Liverpool-based marketing agency has donated more than £65,000 worth of books to local children and young people in need through its All You Read is Love campaign.
This year, the agency is calling for community groups, schools and charities to apply for the free donations to help distribute them.
For the first time, the festive campaign is backed by award-winning author Frank Cottrell-Boyce and the National Literacy Trust (NLT).
Frank Cottrell-Boyce said: “Alongside Agent and my own Reading Rights: Books Build a Brighter Future campaign with BookTrust, I once again call on national and local leaders to come together and make the magic of reading a part of daily life for every child. A book is for life, not just for Christmas!”
All You Read is Love has received support from global book distributor, Publiship, allowing it to donate books to over 5,000 children who need them most.
Agent, which has studios in Liverpool and Manchester, has an annual mission to make reading more accessible to young people.
The campaign’s significance is emphasised through NLT’s research, which showed just one-in-five children read in their free time.
The marketing agency is calling for local organisations to help distribute thousands more books to children who might not receive gifts.

This year, the campaign is aiming to be the biggest one yet, with the goal of even more children having a book to read during the holidays.
Mr Corcoran said: “This year, we are determined to make it a Christmas to remember for eager young minds. Every child should wake up to a gift under the tree, and if you can help us spread the magic of reading, we want to hear from you!”
