Students at the University of Liverpool have cancelled their cake sale in aid of Palestine and will instead hold a vigil.
It comes as Sir Keir Starmer branded pro-Palestine protests at Universities, on the second anniversary of the October 7th Hamas attack, as “un-British”.

“Anyone calling for the murder of Jewish people they have never met, shows a total loss of empathy in the UK. This is not who we are as a country, it’s un-British to have so little respect for others.”
Police also called for last weekend’s protests, in support of Palestine Action, to be cancelled in the wake of the Manchester Synagogue attack in which two people were killed.
James Gannon, a student at the University of Liverpool said; “I understand not wanting a protest but if he condemned the genocide in the first place, he wouldn’t be dealing with us protesting so much.’
Another student, Ann Cusack, added: “It’s abysmal sorry, he is complicit and taking an active part in this genocide.”
