The annual Labour Party Conference is returning to Liverpool.
Over the next week the city will hold speeches, votes, delegations and training for members, trade unions and MPs.
it is one of the biggest events in UK politics in the year; here is everything you need to know.
When?
The conference will begin on September 28 and will carry through to October 1.
Where?
The final conference and voting will be held at ACC Liverpool in the Main Hall.
Other fringe events will be taking place over the four days at The Pullman, The Hilton and The Leonardo hotels as well as the ACC.
Who?
Sir Keir Starmer will be making his closing speech on Tuesday, September 30, in the main hall at an assumed 2pm based on previous years.
On the Monday Chancellor Rachel Reeves will be issuing her speech.
Former deputy leader Angela Rayner was originally timetabled to give her speech on the Sunday, however since her resignation there is currently no deputy leader. There will be a husting event at the conference for candidates to put forward why they should take the role of deputy.
Counter Protests
On Saturday 27, there will be a national demonstration against the sale of arms to Israel and the plight of the Palestinian population in Gaza. Organised by Palestine Solidarity Campaign UK, the demo will start at 12 noon at St George’s Plateau.
A second protest will be taking place on Sunday to protest years of austerity and underfunding which have left Liverpool Women’s Hospital under threat of closure.
The protest will start at Liverpool Lime Street at 11am and march towards the conference at the ACC.
Policing
Merseyside Police have said they will be “supporting the safety and security of the Labour Party’s annual conference” and they will be in partnership with the National Accreditation Team to ensure the safety of all delegates at the event.
