Merseyside Police are appealing for information after a man was admitted into hospital with life-changing injuries following a shooting in Wirral.
The 23-year-old suffered several gunshot wounds at 6:30pm on March 22 after the shooting in Woodchurch, Wirral.
Officers were called to the scene on Hoole Road, which is on the junction of Ferry Brow Road.
Local Community Inspector Alan McKeon said: “Firearms have no place on the streets of Merseyside and we remain committed to removing them and the people who choose to carry them.”
Inspector Mckeon added: “It is absolutely vital that we get all information from those communities who feel the impact of gun crime, so we can bring those responsible to justice.”
Offenders are believed to have driven off with a dark-coloured Ford Fiesta before setting fire to it on Wildbrook Drive.
Inspector Mckeon said: “At present we believe this was a targeted attack and there is currently a visible police presence in the area to reassure residents and assist with our investigation.”
Eyewitnesses are asked to come forward or those with dashcam footage are asked to review it.
Those who have any information are asked to contact @MerPolWirral on Twitter or ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook or call 101 with reference 22000199706.
