This morning the clean up of the streets of Liverpool is in full swing after St Patrick’s day celebrations yesterday, with the streets ‘looking like a bomb had hit’.

Bar manager at ‘The Central’ pub Martin Parry said: “It was just absolute chaos, it was like somebody just emptied a load of bins everywhere.”
The celebrations bring a host of people to Liverpool’s Irish bars and pubs every year, creating a busy and vibrant atmosphere.
Bar manager at ‘Ranelagh’s Tavern’ Claire Moore said: “It was probably the busiest Paddy’s day we’ve ever had, we’re going into our eleventh year of being open.
“We had a lot more Irish over than what I’ve known before as well, it was more families”.
Following the ‘brilliant’ atmosphere of St Paddy’s day there is the aftermath of cleaning up all the litter dumped in the city.

Bartender at ‘Cayote Ugly’ Omar Ahmed said: “Every now and then I’d come out and just try and pop things into bins.
“It was a lot of rubbish just piling up against the street.”
The clean-up operation is continuing today, marking the end of another St Paddy’s day celebration.
