A recent study carried out by Get Licensed revealed the top ten police force areas with the biggest drops.

The research is based off of statistics given by the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

Merseyside was eighth on the table for the largest decrease, with a 16.67% reduction, ahead of the likes of Suffolk and Gloucestershire. Cambridgeshire recorded the largest reduction at nearly 30%, a figure for Merseyside to strive for.

Merseyside Police have made it their priority to tackle knife related crime within the county through an increase in police patrols in addition to educating young people and adults on the dangers of using and carrying a knife.
