The Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool will be hosting a powerful exhibition of work by Black British women and non-binary artists from October 19-March 9 2025.

With backing from the Art Fund and the Paul Mellon Centre, the exhibition will be the first of its kind to be held in a national gallery in the UK.

Anyone attending can expect to see a variety of media on display, from paintings and video to sculpture.

The event promises to be thought-provoking, highlighting the creativity of these diverse voices in Britain. It aims to create a safe space for underrepresented artists to share their challenges with identity and race through their art.

Alongside the artwork, there will be an illustrated publication showcasing in-conversation discussions and a number of essays – to be published in November.

For anyone looking to visit, entry is free with donations welcome.
