Saturday will mark the second anniversary since war was declared in Ukraine.
As the nation marks this solemn event, the affects of war are still as prevalent today as they were two years ago, with thousands of Ukrainian residents seeking refuge in the UK.
All over the UK, those affected by the war have been able to receive help and support from charities that have been set up to care for those in need.

The Ukrainian Welcome Centre in Crosby has been providing help since March 2021.
With the end still not in sight, centre manager Alan Lewis said:
“The confidence that they were going to win last summer is now a feeling of it’s going to be a long time and that means the need for coming together and support is more important. “
The Welcome centre, situated at Blundellsands Methodist Church, has provided the people of Ukraine with support for both families and individuals looking to better their employment skills here in the UK.
We’re hoping that this centre will continue to thrive
The centre hosts a range of coffee mornings, charity shop events and daily support for people who are struggling since moving here.
Alan hopes that while the conflict is still ongoing, the centre can provide support for as long as possible: “We’re hoping that this centre will continue to thrive, to provide opportunities for people to be together, support each other, continue to learn English, learn how to live in the UK and with our training enterprise, and get more people so they are able to earn a living.”
To mark the anniversary of the conflict, a “Stand with Ukraine” rally will take place in Liverpool city centre on Saturday at 1pm.
The rally will start at Liverpool Parish Church and make its way to the Metropolitan Cathedral for a Pray for Ukraine.
