Merseysiders are being urged to get moving to fundraise for mental health support.
The 100 Miles in March campaign by mental health charity MIND encourages anyone to run, walk, cycle or even scoot.
The money raised will be used to provide support and access to vital information for those battling depression and anxiety.
MIND states that one in four people in the UK will experience a mental health problem in any given year, with over 18 million people accessing their information in 2019-20.
Over 6,000 members have signed up on Facebook and the charity has encouraged any member of the public to “get moving for better mental health.”
Merseynewslive spoke to Finn Bowen, who works for the civil service. He is a lifelong sufferer of depression and anxiety and is taking part in the campaign.
He said: “It’s perfect for me because I’m still guilty of staying indoors on my bad days and I hardly ever exercise, which makes me feel far worse.
“I’ll be setting myself a goal each day to complete which will just give me a huge sense of accomplishment and a feeling of actually doing something productive.
“Mental health is extremely important to me. I’ve struggled all my life and know many friends going through the same and MIND are a great charity who do good work
“I’m looking forward to just getting out the house and starting afresh each day with a new target. I can’t wait to raise some money with all the other participants.”
MIND encourages anybody to participate to raise as much money as possible for those in need.
The 100 miles can be done indoors or outdoors and the full amount doesn’t have to be completed.
MIND have said it is simply the taking part that counts.
