Queer owned events company Lavender Nights are hosting Liverpool’s first ever Queer Festival this weekend.

The daytime event is set to take place this Saturday 25th at Baltic venues Sub Rosa and North of Nowhere, it will be the first of its kind in Liverpool.

In their announcement post for the event on Instagram, Lavender Nights said: “We’ve got so much queer talent in this city and it’s about time there was a festival to showcase it all.”

Taking place on internationally recognised Lesbian Visibility Week, the festival aims to celebrate lesbians and all queer people and their talents.

There will be live performances, DJ’s, workshops, merch and even a matcha bar.

Anyone who identifies as queer or as an ally to the LGBTQIA+ community is welcome to the event.

Lavender Nights started in 2023 as a film night with the intention of combatting the lack of social spaces for lesbians in Liverpool.

Since then, their events have grown in popularity expanding to lesbian social nights, sports days, craft nights and more.

Queer Fest is set to be their biggest event to date and Liverpool’s biggest LGBTQIA+ event to date.

Maisie Cooper, founder of fellow queer Liverpool organisation Pukka said: “Queer Fest genuinely feels community-led, which is exactly what the scene needs right now. The mix of workshops, DJs, and social elements makes it far more accessible—especially for people who don’t necessarily feel at home in traditional club spaces. It’s the kind of event that helps grow the community, rather than just catering to the same crowd.

“More than anything, events like this don’t just provide a safe space for queer people—they create the conditions for genuine, authentic connections to form, which is what ultimately sustains and strengthens the community.”
