
A stolen caravan and 47 boxes of golf bags have been seized in Rainford after six people were arrested.
Warrants were carried out at homes in Melling as part of an investigation into a high-value business burglary on November 17th.
Merseyside Police were called to Clarkes Golf Centre on Mill Lane, Rainford, to a report of a break-in and multiple items of stock had been stolen on October 22.
The following people have now been arrested:
- 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary
- 41-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods and acquiring/using/possessing criminal property
- 44-year-old man arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession of an offensive weapon in a private place and acquiring/using/possessing criminal property
- 44-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods
- 36-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods, being in possession of a controlled Class B drug and possession with intent to supply a controlled Class A drug
- 37-year-old man from Bootle arrested on suspicion of burglary and handling stolen goods
Following property searches that are linked to the suspects officers have recovered the following items:
- 47 boxes of golf bags
- Around 10,000 in cash
- Two Rolex watches
- A suspected stolen caravan
- 220 cartons of cigarettes
- Suspected stolen makeup and beauty products
All items have now been seized as part of the ongoing investigation and the arrested suspects remain in police custody.
Detective Inspector Jimmy Rotheram said: “I hope this illustrates how seriously we take reports of all forms of burglary, whether it be a business or a residential property.”
He continued: “We’d also like to take this opportunity to encourage businesses to consider taking a few simple steps that prevent opportunists spotting an easy target.”
