Merseyside Police are appealing for information after a pub worker was pushed to the ground and beaten at their workplace.

Two men and a woman entered The Southport Coaster pub on Lord Street when an argument between them occurred, on Friday 12 April.

The woman became aggressive and was escorted out by a member of staff. One of the men proceeded to assault the member of staff by pushing him to the floor, then punching and kicking him.

The male suspect then made off towards the Prince of Wales hotel.

Inspector Edward Barr said: “This was a dangerous and reckless attack that has left the victim shaken and required hospital treatment for his injuries.

We are taking this incident extremely seriously and I am appealing to the man featured in these images, or anyone who recognises him to come forward.”

Detectives have since issued CCTV images of a man who could have information following this incident.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact @MerPolCC on Twitter with reference 24000336267.
