A series of family events are being held in Merseyside to entertain you and the whole family over the Christmas period.
Firstly, the Aladdin pantomime will be taking place at St Helens Theatre Royal, starring Emmerdale star Liam Fox as Abanazer and Radio City host Leanne Campbell as a digital genie.
The Theatre Royal’s fastest-selling panto yet it is a real crowd-pleaser. Richard Aucott – who plays Widow Twanky – told MNL why to book your tickets: “Have a laugh, have a joke, have a sing song. Just enjoy yourself and forget about all the troubles”.
Meanwhile, the annual Dada celebrations of disability and deaf arts has been taking place across Liverpool venues. On Sunday (December 3) there will be the annual Rushton lecture with guest Ashokkumar D Mistry. The aim of the event is to keep poet and disabled activist Rushton’s fighting spirit alive on what is the United Nations International Day for People with Disabilities.
What’s more, Ashokkumar D Mistry will be looking at the theme ‘Reclaiming Nonchalance’ – the value of disabled lives, and in particular exploring the value of the lives of disabled children and young people.
The event is hosted in partnership with Disability Arts Online..
Finally, Everyman’s rock’n’roll panto Cinderella is a hit. On until January 20, the classic fairy-tale sees Grace Venus and Thomas Fabian Parrish play Ellanora and Prince Charming in what contains a modern-day twist and pop classics in the ultimate love story.
