Bean Coffee in Liverpool is raising money for Alder Hey Children’s Charity with an exclusive Christmas coffee blend crafted by the charity themselves.
The charity team took a trip to the Bean Coffee roastery at Brunswick business park where they learnt about different coffee beans and combinations.
After a day of work, the team came to the decision to create a blend of Brazil DBarbosa and Ethiopia Chelichele coffee beans. The blend is called ‘Oli’s blend’, named after Alder Hey’s mascot Oli the Elephant.
The blend was launched on November 9, with Bean’s managing director Jon Whyte revealing they are working hard to raise as much money as possible.
He said: “We want to try and raise as much as we can, along with our customers, and a great way for us to do that was to create a special festive blend.
“We really enjoy the blend the team selected, and we hope lots of people get to enjoy it as their first cup on Christmas morning.”
Bean Coffee and Alder Hey previously partnered up to raise money in March.
The packaging of the coffee is designed to match the children’s hospital own branding and is available to buy from their website.
Hoping for a positive reaction from the public, corporate partnerships officer at Alder Hey Children’s Charity, Becky Parsons said: “With a very generous £5 from every pack going to Alder Hey, we hope that the new blend will be a really popular choice this Christmas.
As well as coffee on their website, Bean have also made a pack of Christmas cards available to purchase with the same design as the coffee blend. Each pack contains five cards for £5 with all the money raised going to Alder Hey.
Talking about both donating opportunities, Becky Parsons said: “Every pack sold will help make a difference to the children and young people we care for at Alder Hey.”
A 200g size bag of coffee can be purchased for £8 on the Bean Coffee website, Alder Hey’s own website or any Bean store across the North West.
