One of Liverpool’s most famous buildings has been nominated for a prestigious award.
Liverpool’s Royal Liver Building has been shortlisted for the Planning Excellence Award from the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).It has been included in the Heritage and Culture category.
The building has been shortlisted for its impact on the local community and its history as one of the UK’s most recognisable landmarks.
RTPI President Wei Yang explained the prestige of the award.
Dr Yang said: “For more than 40 years, these prestigious awards have celebrated the exceptional work undertaken by town planners.
“In the middle of a global pandemic, I believe they are more relevant than ever before as we showcase the very best of our profession.
“I wish all the finalists the very best of luck at the ceremony.”
The Awards ceremony is set to take place virtually on 29th April.
The RTPI Awards for Planning are the longest-running and most respected awards in the UK planning industry.
