Merseyside Police has introduced a Dispersal Zone on Liverpool Waterfront today in response to reports of antisocial behaviour towards residents, contractors and businesses in the area.
Several reports of antisocial behaviour have been made to police during the warmer weather.
The dispersal zone will run from today at 12.30pm until 12.30pm on Friday 26 June.
The designated area includes (and is bounded by): Princess Parade, Bath Street, New Quay, George’s Dock Gates, Strand Street, Wapping, Chaloner Street, Sefton Street, Brunswick Way, Southferry Quay, Kings Parade, Riverside Walk and Georges Parade.
A person who fails to comply with a direction to leave the area, or who returns within the specified time, commits an offence may be arrested. It also gives officers the power to seize any item that could be used for anti-social behaviour.
Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Laura Chandler said: “We will not accept the actions of anyone who cause stress, harassment or alarm to people who are working on the Waterfront and are just doing their job.
“Today’s dispersal zone will be enforced to protect people who live and work in our community and ensure they can go about their business without being intimidated or threatened.”
Anyone with information on ASB in their area is asked to contact Merseyside Police social media desk via X and Facebook @MerPolCC.
