Police have charged a second individual as part of an investigation into a fatal road traffic collision in Norris Green in February.
On Sunday 25 February, a pedestrian was involved in a collision with a Ford Transit van.
Emergency services were called, but the victim, 81 year old John Newton, died in hospital the next day.
Patrick Heron, 37, of Ashfield Road, Mossely Hill has been charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice and will appear in court this morning.
A 40 year old man from Walton has also been arrested earlier on suspicion of assisting an offender. He has been released on conditional bail.
