NOW Festival 2024 kicks off today as part of Children’s Mental Health week.
Across three nights at the Liverpool Lighthouse, a non-profit organisation in Anfield, children and young people get the opportunity to showcase their talents.
Together, Merseyside Youth Association’s (MYA) RAISE team, School Improvement Liverpool and other partners have put together this year’s event to present the theme of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s).
ACEs are potentially traumatic events that happen when you are a child – for example experiencing violence, abuse or neglect. Also, it includes areas of the child’s environment that might impact their health and wellbeing like growing up in a household with substance use problems.
The other partners involved are Liverpool CAMHS, Merseyside Police and Crime Commissioner Emily Spurrell and Merseyside Violence Reduction Partnership.
