It’s time to get in the Christmas spirit!

With so many things to do and so little time to do them, we thought you might need our help.

We’ve compiled a list of the top 5 things you should do before Christmas to get you in the festive spirit.

1. Visit the Christmas markets

It wouldn’t be Christmas without a trip around the markets. Delicious food, festive music, and a whole range of gifts/ trinkets to choose from.

The markets this year are in a slightly different location. They are in John’s Gardens, William Brown Street and the area around the North Entrance of St George’s Hall.

Running right up until the 23rd, there’s plenty of time to still attend and explore the 40+ stalls and rides. Entrance to the markets is free.

Opening times:

Sunday – Wednesday: 11am – 9pm

Thursday – Saturday: 11am – 10pm

What better way to get into Christmas spirit than visiting the theatre and experiencing the festive joy first-hand?

Take the family and head down to one of Liverpool’s many prestigious theatre venues to see a show.

Whether it’s a Christmas pantomime for the kids, or a comedy show for the adults, there are many shows to bring people together.

Tickets are still available for some performances:

3. See the Royal Albert Dock Christmas lights

Take a walk along the docks and see all the beautiful lights known as Liverpool’s Brightest Light Trail.

The waterfront illuminations consist of millions of twinkly lights along with Triton, Neptune, Bella and Bertie (Christmas mascots to spot).

A map can be downloaded on your phone to guide you around the most magical parts of the dock.

Alongside this, a Christmas playlist can be accessed to make your stroll that bit more festive.

4. Test your ice-skating skills

Head down to Ice Festival to test your skills on the rink!

If a sit-down meal isn’t your idea of celebrating, get your friends together and try out ice skating.

It’s a fun way to bring everybody together, do something different, and get moving.

Ice Festival, set within the magical Liverpool Waterfront backdrop, also has rides to enjoy.

It is open daily until January 3, so plenty of time to squeeze this one in.

5. Enjoy a special Christmas meal

Last but certainly not least, if you’re looking for something a little bit more intimate, Liverpool has hundreds of restaurants to enjoy a seasonal meal.

With Christmas menu’s taking over the scene, there is so much to try. With so much to choose from its hard to pick just a few of our favourites.

You could make your way down to the Baltic markets to try their worldly twists on festive favourites.

Or Duke Street Market is ideal if you want to test out a range of food from independent kitchens.
