Mersey News Live interviewed the band ahead of Five’s shows in the M&S Bank Arena this November.
After their shock spilt in 2001, Five are finally back together again but warn this could be Liverpool’s last chance to see them.
Following huge success with hits like Everybody Get Up and Keep On Movin’, the band sold 20 million records in the late ‘90s.
Known in their youth as the ‘bad boys of pop’, Sean Conlon, Ritchie Neville, Scott Robinson, Abz Love and Jason Brown, have reunited for a huge nationwide tour later this year.
In an interview with Mersey News Live, Ritchie Neville said: “All I can say is, whenever us five get together, crazy things happen.
“When we first started out, we had no idea that after seven months of living together we’d be in the top ten.
“Now, we met up in an Airbnb for a jolly and the next thing we’re doing 25 dates and an arena tour.”
The band initially announced one concert in Liverpool on November 7, 2025, at the 11,000-seat M&S Bank Arena.
After selling out in minutes, they added a second show on November 30 at the same venue.
When asked if they expected such a huge response from fans, Abz Love said: “To be honest, we didn’t really know what to expect after being away for so long.
“We’re very overwhelmed and very grateful for the response. It’s up to us now to deliver.”
Despite their quarter-century break, Sean Conlon said: “We’re very deeply bonded.
“I don’t know if all bands have that, and I’m not saying they don’t, but we’ve definitely got a really special, deep bond that we don’t take for granted.”
Scott Robinson added: “It’s stood the test of time.”
Since reconnecting, the band haven’t hinted at the possibility of new music or future tours.
Ritchie warned: “It could be the last time we come to Liverpool, we’re not really sure.”
Abz said: “We prefer to look at it as the first time in a long time.”
“Yeah I like that Abz,” Scott agreed.
The tour begins in Cardiff on October 28, 2025, and wraps up just over a month later in Dublin on December 2.
