The Museum of Liverpool is set to host a new exhibition, “Goodbye to Goodison,” paying tribute to Everton Football Club’s historic stadium in its final season.

Running from 5 April to 21 September 2025, the display features photographs taken by fan photographers, capturing the essence of matchdays at Goodison Park.

The selected images highlight the matchday rituals, local chippies, pubs that have defined generations of Toffees fans.

Co-curator and PR officer Chris Wardle said: “We’re looking away from the pitch and the players, we want to focus on the fans, the rituals and the routines.”

The exhibition serves as a love letter to Goodison, showcasing the connection between the stadium and Everton’s loyal supporters.

Speaking to MerseyNewsLive, one of the photographers Sarah Deboe commented: “It’s bittersweet. I’m really excited for the new stadium but obviously leaving Goodison behind is a huge thing to overcome for the fanbase.”

On Thursdays throughout the run of the display, visitors will be able to see additional images from the photographers and share their own memories and experiences of going to the match.

Running alongside the display, the museum will release an episode of the NML Podcast talking with staff, ex-players, ex-managers and other important figures who know Goodison Park best.

Online a wider selection of photos from around the ground will be available to view.
