Everton’s possible last FA Cup game at Goodison Park could be a historical moment for the Blues.
Ashley Young could make history tonight as the first father-son duo to play against each other in the competition.
The 39-year-old has the possibility of lining up against his son Tyler, who is 18, as the Toffees take on Peterborough in their third-round tie.
In an interview on Everton’s website, Young said that it would be a “goosebumps” moment for him: “I’ve said it for numerous amounts of years that if there was a possibility that we were able to play with each other or play against each other, it tops everything I’ve done in my career. Hopefully, come game day we’re able to get on the same pitch.”
Young also added that he thinks that their family will root for Tyler over himself, but it would be a fantastic moment for their family regardless.
Everton are looking for their first win in five and the Toffees are currently sat in 16th in the Premier League table.
Meanwhile, Peterborough are also struggling in the table, sitting 19th in the League One, the third tier of English football.
The game kicks off at Goodison Park at 19:45.
