With nearly 100 years of service, Bromborough station has been put up for sale on Rightmove this morning.
With the aim to modernise Merseyside police stations and optimise the best facilities for staff and officers to serve their communities in the region. The Police and Crime Commissioner’s 12 year Estate Strategy has been put in place.
More money needs to be generated for the frontline police. The strategy aims to sell out-dated buildings and replacing them with more cost-effective and efficient stations.
Within the plan a brand new police hub is aimed to be completed within the next five years in the Wirral. By selling Bromborough police station the money accumulated can be reinvested into the new police base project.
Merseyside’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Emily Spurrell said: “By selling this site, which is no longer fit for purpose, we will generate money which will be used to continue to transform the police estate, making sure our stations are fit to serve our officers and staff, so they are fit to fight crime now and into the future.
Bromborough marks the 11th station to be sold during the plan following the Canning place station went on the Market in October.
The property is located close to Bromborough Village Road and leads to A41 close by. The A41 runs north to Birkenhead Tunnel and Liverpool City Centre and south to Junction 5 of the M53 motorway.
