A temporary flight restriction zone will be imposed as part of the policing operations during the time the HMS Prince of Wales is docked at Liverpool Cruise Terminal.

The ship is Liverpool to receive the Freedom of the City this week.

The flight restrictions will be in place from 7am December 2 to Monday, December 9. It will specifically affect drones, meaning it will be an offence to fly any unmanned aircraft below 2000ft above sea level without the approval of Merseyside police.

Any drones found flying against these restrictions may be prosecuted as well as the user having any equipment seized and confiscated.

During its visit, the ship’s 800 crew will participate in a series of events, including visits to local schools, community projects, and meetings with civic leaders.
