Over the span of 17 years, Liverpool Community Radio has brought over £1m to its local community of Kensington.

Since 2007, all profits made from the radio station have been given back into the area. It has developed six out of seven shop units, a community café, a bike recycling project and a community bakery- providing new business opportunities and jobs for the local residents.

Dave Faragher, 69, organiser of the community radio explained how he discovered the total sum of the funds raised.

As a recognition for the project’s ‘give back’ attitude, OFCOM have extended its licensing period till 2029, continuing its services to Kensington.
